Your first appointment

We won’t keep you waiting, so please get to the clinic at least five minutes before your scheduled appointment so you’ll have time to fill out any paperwork.
Your practitioner will meet you in reception and take you into a treatment room to speak in private. No special clothing is necessary. Depending on what treatment is needed you may be required to remove certain items of clothing so layers and short sleeves or loose clothing may suit you. You’ll change in private, and be covered throughout your treatment.

Your first acupuncture treatment

Your first appointment generally takes about an hour and 15 minutes. This provides plenty of time for the practitioner to go through your intake form with you. They will further examine and check your pulse and tongue, which are important aspects of diagnosis in Chinese Medicine and determine which acupuncture points will be required. Acupuncture treatment takes about 20 to 30 minutes and may also include other modalities such as Moxa, Gua Sha, cupping or electro acupuncture.

All of this will be discussed with you prior to treatment and is at no extra cost.
Nothing should be painful and all aspects of your treatment are discussed prior to commencement and any questions you may have can be answered.

Herbal formulas and supplements

Your practitioner may suggest supplements or a Chinese herbal formula.
Chinese Herbal formulas are based on clinical efficacy. A formula may contain a blend of up to 15 herbs, and come prepared as pills, tinctures, or granules so they are easy and convenient to take. Herbs are always chosen to address your specific pattern of symptoms.
