tired-mum

In many cultures it has long been acknowledged that women will benefit from a period of rest and recuperation post-birth before getting back to regular duties. In Traditional Chinese Medicine women were expected to rest for 40 days to allow their bodies to recover from the trauma of birth and to provide time for mother and baby to bond.

These days we expect to recover a lot faster. Of course everyone is different but healing can take time whether from c-section or vaginal birth.

If you feel you aren’t recovering as well as expected or you have persistent bleeding then why don’t you give us a call.

Here at the clinic we offer specialist herbal tonics and teas for new mums that help nourish the blood and build milk supply, improve fatigue and speed up healing.

We find this especially important for those that have lost a lot of blood, feel constant fatigue, those that have had traumatic births, some older mums, and those struggling with baby blues.

Our tonics are based on plant products that have known therapeutic effects and can be safely taken while breast feeding.

We also offer acupuncture to help stop uterine bleeding. These treatments usually only need 20 minutes and we provide our special ‘take away’ tabs that allow mums to continue treatment at home at their convenience. If you’d like to know more then please contact for more information on what is the right choice for you or the new mum in your life….
